And sorry that I haven't updated blog. Working in YLE Etelä-Karjala is one whole big dream right now. I have had chances to try so many different kind of reporting tasks. It's very great to learn more and more all the time and at the same time to do real job. Last week I made my first tv-news ! I was making normal radio report and there was at the same time camera which was making that report to TV news. So now I've been reporting in radio, Internet and TV :)) So great ! It's so good that my job mates are giving different kind of advices because there isn't only one right way to do good report.

The Christmas is coming very fast. Yesterday I got all Christmas gifts. I really hate that point of Christmas that you have to buy gifts to others ! Of course giving (and especially having) are nice but its so hard to get good and personal gift idea. Thanks god I bought gifts only to my parents, to brother and to my girlfriend. Otherwise I think that I would be in market still.

Hopefully I have time to tell u better about my work in YLE later but if I can't update before Christmas then I say already now Merry Christmas all of you !

ON-AIR in Joensuu

HOHHOHOOO this day felt so normal at the beginning :D

My day started normal way. I woke up at 6am, went by bus to Lappeenranta, started working with text writing to YLE's website and then it was time to go to Joutseno. My task was to make on-air from Joutseno's market square where was going on a Christmas market day. Well everything went very well before ending.. when I was speaking myself out of the show I said "so this kind of feeling is here at Joensuu's market square". And the most awful thing is that I recognized that after show when it was too late to fix sayings. Joensuu word just came so automatically ! Maybe that's why cause I've been in Joensuu so often at this year. And by the way.. this was first time when I was reporting live-interview by myself :DD

Let's see what happens tomorrow in work. I can already now hear how my job mates are laughing :DD

Hey, it's Teemu Seppänen calling from YLE Etelä-Karjala

Yeah.. that's the sentence which will be very familiar to me at next 2 months.
Today I started my work practice period at YLE Etelä-Karjala. It's Etelä-Karjalas own county radio- and tv-station.

These journalist things which I'm gonna do are mostly very familiar for me already but it's still so awesome be there because I really love this job ! Last time I was doing this work in YLE Pohjois-Karjala last winter. I think that it's very important in this career to get your name known in different kinda job places so you can get some job when it's time to graduate.

Today I was just chilling out almost whole day but tomorrow it's time to start working really ! There's gonna be so much nice things ahead ! I'm so happy that I have opportunities to try many different kind of job tasks. But mostly I'm reporter still. And god my job mates are really nice too !! Everything feels so perfect right now.. Only one bad thing is travelling from Imatra to Lappeenranta (job place is there) by bus. But maybe I'll get used to it :)

It took almost 3 months but finally our baby is ready. I'm very proud of my work group whose were making this video with me. Whereas this was first music video which I have directed and I can say very proudly that we have done very great work !!

Something so awesome

oh god... again I have had one of greatest weekend ever ! I told you earlier that we were going to Koli with our studentclub Omppu. We arrived to Koli on Friday and first we afraid that we have some kinda little poor cottage middle of the  forest but that was something so different than what we expected ! Cottage was very nice and landscape outside was greatest what you can see in East-Finland.

We had so great time there and I wish that we can have that kind of trip again so early as possible !! Of course we had meeting there too. We are planning so great activities for our school's students that I even cannot wait that everything is ready :))

On Saturday we came back to home. Saturday was just chilling out with friends. Our evening's theme was country.

Saturday was special day because I got a new hair style. Now I can see my ears OMG ;oo something so new..

and now back to have boring Sunday evening.. I really hate Sunday's because there isn't nothing happening then.. oh.. I almost forget.. of course I can clean my whole apartment<3 well maybe it's good to do that even sometimes.

Merry Christmas !!

Really.. is it? C'MOON !! Christmas commercials are coming with my post already !! I cannot understand that why I can see everywhere where I walk nowadays something what is including Christmas things?! I'm not any kind of person who hates Christmas but I just don't like that I see everywhere Christmas things when its still too far from that. Christmas has to be great and unforgettable celebration day.. okey it is no one cannot forget that because of commercials and everything but Christmas lost it's meaning !! ARRGH. Am I only one who felt this way? And second not so good thing about Christmas is that it's so hard to get gift idea to other one. I like to give gifts and of course have them but when I have to buy gift for someone I might hang around the shops hole day :D

Last weekend I was in Imatra because of my friend reached 18 and she was having big birthday parties there.

Parties was good. There was lots of people, food and drinks. And now I know that I shouldn't wear white jeans when I'm going to party because now I have purple blobs on my jeans :D 

It was so weird to come back to Joensuu after Imatra trip. In Imatra there was plus degrees and there wasn't snow nowhere. And when I jumped out from train in Joensuu there was at least -1000000 degrees cold and snow fitted hole area ! It's too big changing for one day. And how it can be even possible? Imatra isn't so far from Joensuu.. weird.. well somewhere that line has to go.

And now I'll rescue (or I even try) this posting with pictures:

In chemic we were making Antihistamin and it smelled so awful because it was including vinegar or something like that YÄK.

We decided with Janni that we are too smart for lesson so then we decided to create ourselves on board.

Learn to speak English !

First of all I want to reply to comment which I got when I updated my blog last time. Some person without nickname (surprise surprise) commented to me: "learn to speak english. lol". I'm sorry for you that I wasn't replying immediately but I wanted share this comment with others. Is it so awful thing if someone who is writing blog in English cannot write perfectly? If you didn't know I'm studying international radio-and tv-work so we are studying in English too. And good English speaking skills are very recommended in media work so that's why I'm very thankful that I can study this education in English! I know by myself that my English isn't the best but that's why I'm speaking and writing in English gladly. No matter that am I telling everything correct way. Main thing is that people can understand. And If someone cannot understand what I'm saying I would say that you should learn to speak English. But then to other things>

Now we have started musicvideo's editing with Jenna. First editing day was meaningless because we had problems to export material from tape to computer. Yesterday was first editing day when we even made something. We started our editing project with first scene. There is sooo much takes from that scene so it's hard to find best picture for final version. Finally we made some kinda version but I'll think that we have to edit some pictures again before we can continue ahead. It was clever to end editing before we were too "blind" with material.

Today I was introducing our school in Joensuu. There was this kind of happening where different kind of schools are introducing their own educations. Mostly visitors was from 9th class and everytime when we were telling about our school they were just standing and when we asked is anything to ask or is anyone interested everyone was silent. Otherwise they were talking to eachothers  but immediately when we asked something they stopped speaking. It felt like I was talking to walls whose were watching me like stupid.  Let's see how it goes on Thursday. Tomorrow I can have a break because of Hälyttämö.

I'm not sure that have I told that I'm in our studentclub Omppu ry. We decided to take part of SAKKI's competition where winner is that who makes best couch. We took old half-broken couch and now we are fixing that for new look. And we are building apple around the couch. So you have to go to inside "a apple" where is couch. Deadline is at December so we have to hurry up !

SAKKI weekend

It was so weird to come back to school today because I haven't been there almost two weeks :o first there was Lady Gaga's concert and that's why I went away from school already on Tuesday. Rest of the week was travelling back to Outokumpu and other little things what I had to do. And then last week was Autumn holiday. I had that kind of feeling that I was like having summer holiday because it felt so long time without school :D and what can be better way to start school week than four hours finnish lessons? hrrr...

But then to better things: I had awesome weekend ! First of all on last Friday we (me, Annika, Anttoni, Milla) started our travel from Outokumpu to Helsinki at 7.40am. First we traveled to Joensuu by bus where Rosa, Taija and Nina joined us and after that our trip to Helsinki started by train. We were in Helsinki around 2pm and immediately we went to our hotel where we left our bags and then it was time to start thing what we were waiting all day: SHOPPING !! I've been waiting shopping so long time because I've got so much fitter and that's why almost all my old clothes are like some kind of tents on me. I'm so happy that I found many nice clothes (but I'm not so glad that I lost very much money too) so now I have little bit more nice choices in my wardrobe what to wear :) after shopping it was time to rest and have fun in hotel (and when students talks about fun it's really FUN !!)

At next day it was very beautiful morning. It was time to go to Siikaranta where we had meant to have our SAKKI course. This SAKKI course is for Student's clubs from different schools around Finland. And because I'm in our school's club I was of course there :) And it was very good choice to a have little bit different kind of weekend. I got very many new friends from course and I REALLY wish that we would have connect with each others after this course too (well of course we have Facebook but daa-a??). In course we had little bit lessons about Student's clubs (which wasn't new for me at all), different kind of activities how we get to know each others and awesome night show ! There was improvisation theater showing up for us and it was so awesome ! I'll promise to you that if you ever see this Riskiryhmä improvisation theater you cannot be without laughing ! :D 

On Sunday it was time to listen little bit more lessons about student's rights and homosexuality. Bot of those lessons were very interesting. at 1pm it was time to pack stuffs and leave back to home. Travelling to home took all rest of the day but luckily I had good company. My girlfriend Annika left to Imatra for job learning so now it's coming lonely night sniif:( 

But hey I'll promise for all students that you should join to SAKKI's activities because there is so much so great people ! :) And there is coming other things than just lessons about Student's club too.

and yes, again boring non-picture post but I have lost my camera's USB cabel to somewhere :o (it may be with Annika) and I think that you even don't want to see those pictures what I have :D

First of all I have to apologize that I haven't write nothing for a long time at here. But somehow I think that there isn't very many people who even is waiting my texts. Well never mind my angst.. Maybe I have to write more often so maybe then there is more readers? 

But now to the point.. Last time I wrote that we are starting shootings of my music video and now it's done. I didn't write earlier because I was waiting that Piia gives me some pictures of our shootings but I cannot wait any longer because otherwise I'll forget hole thing. Maybe I'll send those pictures later?

So we started shootings two weeks ago. At first day we were shooting in our school's staircase. Staircase scene is coming in second stanza and in that our "Anna Abreu" Annika is sitting on stairs and she is singing to the camera. In my music video there isn't like any plot or theme. It's like mainly just singing to the camera in different places. It may sound boring but I have seen many that kind of music videos and I don't think that those videos are so boring. 

In that day we didn't shoot nothing else cause we decided to shoot other scenes at autumn holiday. 

So then came second shooting day which was last Monday. I was little bit nervous about first scene shootings because we were making that outside and I wanted that there is like sunny weather because then you can see like warm autumn colors in frames.  Well there was mostly half cloudy weather all the time but I think that frames wasn't so terrible still. It was annoying that I didn't have monitors outside but I believe that my cameramen knew what I wanted.

After outside shootings It was time to take cup a coffee inside and get ourselves warm. Then we went to TV-studio (so we were in our school) where we were shooting chorus scenes. I am very proud of those lightnings what we made for that part ! We were like lightning just singer so you cannot see nothing else on background. I wanted that there is that kind of feeling like there is just that singer and no one else near by. And god I love that camera panning what is there in first frame on chorus scene !! It's good to know that there is at least one very great frame in music video :D There was little problems because there was very much like movements with cameras and then there was those wires on way and that's why cameramen were on stuck all the time with cameras :D But after all those funny problems we were finally done with shootings. After shootings I started to be nervous about that do I have enough frames for those parts when there isn't singing. It's very hard to get nothing very special frames for those because there isn't any plat so it may be little bit stupid if there is suddenly some cow on frame. Well we'll see that in edits then.

I think that audience can see which was first scene which we made :D and I'm very sure of that audience can see that student who is studying mostly radio was director of this video. But it was still very nice to create own ideas to the video and try something totally new. It would be nice if I can be part of those video projects some time again.

Radio Kupari and common studies

hellouuuu !!

So last three weeks we had radio course. We were making radio-shows in our radio station Radio Kupari what was something so awesome ! There was three different kind of jobs for radio: hosts, reporters and news team. My job was to be leader of news team and it was fun. Finally I knew EVERYTHING about what's going on around the world :D moreover I was hosting Radio Kupari's morning show every day 9am. There was few people who didn't like radio but I believe that mostly everyone was enjoying and having fun! I can't wait that when Radio Kupari start shows for longer time because I'm gonna be in that project !

Yesterday common studies started.. It means that I have to sit again on a chair and listen teaching about math, chemistry and about every other boring things ! Thanks god that we don't have those studies longer than just one period at this year (and if I say straight our main school is much better because there is windows, plants and paintings in corridors!). Thank's god those teachers what we had met are even nice !

On next weekend I start to make music video with my classmates. We are making video from Anna Abreu's Done With Her song. It's little bit stressing to think how big job is coming for that video but still I can not wait for weekend because I have waited this thing so long time ! Our shootings should be finished after 2 weeks because then our singer/actor Annika leaves from Outokumpu. So there is coming loooong days ! But main thing is that we are enjoying about that ! :) Let's see what happens.. soon you'll know that when I'm crying at here how hard is to make good music video;))

And hehheeyy !! I almost forgot to say that we have those open doors-day again in our school and I am again introducing with very big Pepsodent smile our radio studies with my classmate Soile who was making Hälyttämö with me earlier. Look at those promo-pictures of us. We are so cute<3

Story goes to year 1595 when 25 years long war has ended between Sweden and Russia. In movie there is Swedish and Russians groups whose are making new lines for countries middle of the forest. In Swedish group there is brothers Eerik and Knut Spore. When they are making new map lines they kill a peasant and leaves his daughter to the basement for death. In north’s bog they saw this girls ghost who returns to persecute them. Soon they comes to unknown village which is middle of the bog. Next to village there is very old sauna. Old story tells that you can wash out your sins inside of that sauna. Soon they’re plans changes because of weird happenings.

What’s so special? 

If we are thinking about finnish film making Sauna-movie is something totally new in big productions. Of course there has been this kind of tinier production companies which has made horror movies but Sauna was first bigger one and which has reached other world too. And then if we start think little bit more lower Sauna isn’t just a normal scaring film. Sauna’s genre is more like emotional, psychological horror.

I chose this film just because this is something so new for finnish movie making. And it’s not enough that this movie is bringing new genre to Finalnd because Sauna has showed in other countries too. For example I would say US. 

When you are watching this movie you should concentrate on colours which are very much making this kind of “death is close” feeling. I love this movies sound world because its growing emotions on this movie perfectly ! Just speaking is bothering me at the some points because it’s too much like studio voice. 

Independent week

This week has been very many-sided. Almost all my classmates went to Nurmes to movie camp or multi camera work. I didn't go there because I thought that its much better for me to practice video editing when others are in Nurmes. I had purpose to edit theater's videos but then came very bad barrier for my plans. Director who gave to me those videos was understanding my job wrongly and that's why my only job for those videos was export them to DVD.
So of course I had to think new project for myself for that week. At next day I was mixing Hälyttämö's new jingles and on Wednesday I played those jingles at the first time on radio.

New project for last week was to make introducing video about radio-and tv-work for Open doors- day.
 I made that video with my classmate Sarita and our school's PR-person who gave us that project was happy about final version.
I'll try to send that video at here later.

Next week we are starting Radio programming- course. At first week others are getting familiar about radio-studio and then we'll start to make for next two weeks radio show on Radio Kupari. My job is to be producer and I'm very excited about that. Its nice to have some responsibility work !

Tyttö Sinä Olet Tähti - Presentation

Tyttö Sinä Olet Tähti (Beauty and Bastard) is Finnish movie which has made in 2005. Director of movie is Dome Karukoski who is well-known director nowadays in Finland. This movie is his first movie and it was very big hit in Finland when it came out to cinemas. Tyttö Sinä Olet Tähti is very humoristic but still in some cases serious movie. Songs of this film are from best Finnish Hip-Hop artists. Example from Asa and Iso H. Movie won Scandinavian’s first movie-price in Norways Amanda-movie gala.

Movie tells about girl named Nelli who is dreaming career of RnB singer. Nelli’s family is very rich and her parents wants her to go study doctor’s career. Perfectionist family’s girl Nelli meets Sune who is composer of his own Hip-Hop band. Sune consents to produce single for Nelli so she can provide herself to record label. Sune’s secret motive is still to prove his friends that he can get girl like Nelli to himself. Recording plans starts to be more difficult when Sune and Nelli starts to love each others. Nelli’s has to fight against her feelings because she have already big feature plans with her boyfriend and about education what her parent’s wants to her. Finally through many curves plans are still changing and Nelli gets her recording contract and her and Sune’s problems solves with happy ending.

My extract starts from living room- scene where Sune has met Nelli’s parents first time.
In first frame there is very expensive looking stereos on the table. Stereos are playing Nelli’s song. In next picture you can see full shot of people who are in living room. Sune, Nelli, her mom and visitors are sitting on couches. Nelli’s father is standing. Picture changes to another side and you can see another side of living room and stairs. Fittings are looking very expensive and modern. White room colours are giving that kind of gold feeling what Nelli and her parents might feel between each others when they are listening Nelli’s song. Lightning is typical home lightning. You can see in the picture Nelli and her father. Nelli’s father are standing next to stereos with remote and he is looking like disappointed. Nelli is looking very nervous and afraid about parent’s feedback. Next you can see medium shot of Sune and Nelli’s mother whose are sitting on blue couch. Blue colour are very big colour of this picture because there is coming blue lightning from window . Sune is wearing typical rap-clothes and mother’s panther dress and jewelleries are telling very clearly about their richness. When Sune and Nelli’s mother are talking how Sune made song there is showing on again full shot of Nelli and her father which changes quickly to close shot of father’s tense face.
Then comes close shot of Nelli’s face who is watching her father’s reaction. Close shot of visitors whose are watching Sune’s explaining confused and then picture is again on Sune and mother. Editing are replaying these frames of hole discussion. Sune is explaining how he multiplied Nelli’s voice in song and mother says sarcastic way: “Did you heard Kari(Nelli’s father)? Our girl has been multiplied.” Medium shot of father and stereos.  Father shuts down stereos and background music fades out. Quick shot of Nelli’s face reaction. Again there is medium shots and close shots of people when they are talking. Sune tries to defence Nelli and Nelli’s father tries to defence his own opinion how important is to get real job.
Picture changes to another scene. Scene starts with filming to living room through the window where parents and visitors are laughing at jokes. Camera starts to move upper to balcony. In balcony Nelli is explaining to Sune where he can catch the bus. Frame ends to medium shot of Nelli and Sune. Sune starts asking is Nelli okay and he says how Nelli’s parents are pressuring her with her choices. Picture changes to over the shoulder. Pictures are changing in this scene from over the shoulder to close shots. Lightning is warmer than in living room. Background is dark because of night time. Lightning is coming from inside. Sune and Nelli are talking what they were imagining first time when they met and how they were wrong of their imaginings. In this scene there is for actor work very specially part. Sune says to Nelli that she is just a normal girl and Nelli is touched about what Sune is saying. That Nelli’s reaction is something very great acting from Pamela Tola ! I’m not sure that can everyone see that but because I’m actor myself I can say that reaction on her face is something so amazing ! After that Nelli says: “No one has ever said anything that nice to me.” And at the same time starts background music with piano. Their talking continues for a while and at the same time music is getting louder and music fades us to next scene where Nelli is singing this same song in studio.
First frame of these scene is close up of Nelli when she is singing front of microphone in studio. Next frame is close up of Sune who is watching entranced Nelli’s singing. Lightning is warm and somehow magical too in this scene. Lightning is coming straight to actors faces so background is dark what gives this kind of “just me and you” feeling. Disco ball is spinning ahead of actors and this is accentuating love in the air. In hole of this scene frames are very simple which are very beautiful there. There is close shots and little bit bigger close shots where camera is moving just a little bit around of actors. Music is of course giving own wonderful part of that scene. Song, pictures, emotions and everything matches together.

This extract is crucial part of this film and that’s way of course important.
In scene before this extract Nelli was deciding to stop recording and just make one song what was already made. But in this scene Nelli decides not to be controlled by her parents anymore and that’s why she is recording this song. Moreover Nelli and Sune are falling in love there.

Tyttö Sinä Olet Tähti-movie isn’t so special and different movie than other movies but still this is that kind of movie what makes you watch it again and again. Moviemakers should be proud of themselves how they made so touching and still humoristic movie. The most special thing in this movie might be that how great looking movie this is with singing parts because in Finland there isn’t very many of them! Dome Karukoski’s director career is looking very good because of this movie !

It took little time to get me here but better do that some day than never right? :D

But still I have some kind a reason for this: I was having work practice in YLE when others made these blogs so that's why I'm coming little bit late ;)

So my name is Teemu Seppänen and I'm 17 years old (-93) guy from Imatra who moved to Outokumpu because of studies.

I'm studying radio-and tv-work in North-Karelia College Outokumpu and I'm gonna write here texts about my school and my works what I have done here. And maybe something else if I'm getting some great idea;)

So now I have second year going on in this school and this schooling are 3 years long like many other vocational education.
